Mahoor Abbasi is an Iranian Carpet and Rug Designer based in Tehran, Iran.

Growing up in Iran (Persia) as one of the foremost origins of carpets in the world along with the fact that carpet is an integral part of the culture and life of the Iranians, made her interested in studying in the field of Carpet Designing at Shiraz University of Art.

Mahoor sees Iranian carpets as a rich cultural heritage. She is feeling complled to find novel expressions and designs inspired by traditional patterns in order to creat a new narrative and keep Persian carpet alive in the modern world.

She has been designing in two fields of machine-made and handmade carpets and has been collaborating with some manufacturers in Iran and abroad for over five years.
